Triumph Foundation assists people with spinal cord injury (SCI) to get necessary equipment, supplies, and services. Individuals who are dealing with paralysis are often discharged from a hospital without a wheelchair to go home in; without necessary supplies for daily care; without the ability to enter their home due to a lack of accessibility; and without other essential goods and services.<\/p>\n

These critical items will enable someone to live a more functional, fulfilling, and independent life, but inadequate health insurance coverage and financial hardship keep it out of reach. Triumph works to bridge that gap thru our Keep Moving Forward (KMF) Grant program, our Employment Achievement Award, and our Equipment & Supply Exchange.<\/p>\n

Keep Moving Forward Grant<\/h2>\n

Triumph\u2019s Keep Moving Forward (KMF) Grant is for people with spinal cord injury that have limited financial capability to help them triumph over obstacles they face and enhance their quality of life.<\/p>\n

Triumph\u2019s KMF Grants help individuals get necessary Adaptive Equipment for activities of daily living, make Home Modifications for wheelchair accessibility, enable the Return to Work reintegrating back into the community, and engage in Therapeutic Activities for health and wellness.<\/p>\n

Categories of qualified requests by priority:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Adaptive Equipment for activities of daily living- ex: wheelchairs, commodes, etc.<\/li>\n
  2. Home Modifications- ex: ramps, bathroom remodel, widen doorways, etc.<\/li>\n
  3. Return to Work\/Community- ex: vehicle modifications, assistive computer technology, etc.<\/li>\n
  4. Therapy\/Recreational Activities- ex: recreational equipment, armcycle, standing frame, gym membership, etc. Grants for in-person therapy sessions are only available to applicants whose injury occurred within the past 2 years and who received less than 6 weeks of rehabilitation.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Applicants must be residents of the United States of America, with priority given to Southern California residents.<\/strong> Applications are reviewed by Board of Directors every 30-90 days, the maximum grant is $2,000 when funds are available, and are paid directly to the vendor (no cash assistance to individuals or reimbursements).<\/p>\n

    Out of State applicants are NOT eligible for<\/strong>: hand controls, scooter attachments, large home modifications, custom-built ramps, items not directly related to mobility, safety, or medical necessity.<\/p>\n

    Technology grants for the purposes of returning to school\/work have a $600 grant maximum amount.<\/p>\n

    Partial Payments toward larger items (i.e. vehicles) will not be considered unless all payments are already in place for the total amount. For example, if requesting $2,000 toward a $20,000 purchase, you must have already obtained $18,000 to complete the transaction.<\/p>\n

    Employment Achievement Award<\/h2>\n

    A key part of Triumph's Employment Assistance Program<\/a> is the Employment Achievement Award, <\/em>this grant provides financial assistance to people with SCI to return to work, achieve more success with current employer, for a license, product, or equipment that will enable you to start a business, and\/or increase their workplace success. The goal is to help people who suffer paralyzing accidents to become productive members of the community.<\/p>\n
