\"\"Every journey\u00a0from tragedy to triumph is unique.\u00a0<\/strong>But even though the details differ significantly, every new story we hear sounds very familiar in the pain, the struggle, and the fight to regain independence and\u00a0keep moving forward<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

For Clarice that story began in 2016 when she fell in a parking garage. She sustained an incomplete spinal cord injury at her L1 vertebrae and was diagnosed with paraplegia. She began her journey to recovery.<\/p>\n

She was able to recover a good deal of movement and began getting around with a walker. Although things are not easy, she works hard to stay mobile and independent in accomplishing her daily activities and reaching her goals.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

\"ClariceAnother important goal for Clarice was to regain her transportation independence by having hand controls installed in her car. Having access to personal transportation is often a prerequisite for employment in many jobs. For Clarice, hand controls in her car represents the ability to get to and from work and achieving her career goals.<\/p>\n

\"Hand controls will improve my quality of life as being a major step towards independence,\" she said, \"and will bring vocation opportunities for reintegrating back into the community.\"<\/p>\n

Clarice completed the adaptive drivers training program at Rancho Los Amigos and we celebrate with her as she recently received her California driver's license. Now she she needed help getting the tools to keep moving forward.<\/p>\n

\"Hand controls will improve my quality of life as being a major step towards independence,\" she said, \"and will bring vocation opportunities for reintegrating back into the community.\"<\/p>\n

So it is with great enthusiasm and excitement for Clarice that Triumph has awarded her with the funding needed to install hand controls in her Honda Civic through the Keep Moving Forward grant program.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
