Each gala, Triumph honors a member of our community supporters for their outstanding service to our foundation\u2019s mission. This year, we're excited to recognize Dr. Steve Heimberg, <\/strong>for his contributions to the SCI community as an advocate, volunteer, and benefactor.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

\"\"Steve began his career as a physician, but when his medical work drew him into fascinating medical-legal and bioethical issues, he decided to pursue a legal degree.<\/p>\n

Dr. Heimberg's legal practice began working on numerous medically-related issues of national interest, as a Special Assistant to the U.S. Secretary of Health. In the past quarter century, Dr. Heimberg and his firm, Heimberg Barr, LLP<\/a>, have advocated for persons catastrophically injured by the wrongdoing of others and medical malpractice, receiving the highest ratings for both legal and ethical standards.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

As a faithful supporter of Triumph Foundation, Dr. Heimberg believes strongly in our mission as part of his mission to help people who are helpless. \u201cI can help people win their important legal battles, but Triumph makes their quality of life a reality.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Like so many of our allies, Dr. Heimberg is passionate about helping beyond financial support. He refers his clients to join our community, volunteers with his family, and has even volunteered his entire staff to help create vital Triumph events. He developed the \u201cFirst 90 Days\u201d book - one of the core assets in Triumph\u2019s Care Paks - to empower newly-injured people to thrive.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

In addition, Dr. Heimberg is a supporter of many other charities, including co-founding The Cambodian Education Project <\/strong>a grass-roots organization that provides schooling and community support to children living in poverty in Cambodia. His greatest accomplishment is becoming a daddy to his new daughter Nikki.<\/p>\n
