\"\"Our mission to transform tragedy into triumph is embodied by our dedicated team of Triumph Ambassadors. These individuals with SCI who\u2019ve \u201cbeen there, done that,\u201d and undergone training as counselors, possess the unique ability to offer peer mentorship and essential resources to every newly-injured person we meet.<\/p>\n

Suhrab is a shining example of an Ambassador whose path to triumph was far from easy. Paralyzed at the age of five by an explosion in his native Afghanistan, Suhrab faced unimaginable challenges<\/strong> as a refugee in Pakistan, even without the basic necessity of a wheelchair. He eventually made his way to the United States, undergoing extensive surgeries for his recovery.<\/p>\n

But for 16 years, Suhrab navigated life navigated life with extreme PTSD and anxiety, unaware of a community of people who share similar injuries and life-long obstacles. It was a life-changing moment when he discovered Triumph Foundation<\/strong><\/em> where he experienced a genuine sense of belonging and support.<\/p>\n

Your support plays a pivotal role in the lives of individuals like Lulu, who faced a dramatically altered reality after a tragic car accident resulted in a C6 spinal cord injury and quadriplegia. Our paths crossed at our Central Coast support group, and it was there that Triumph provided Lulu with a Care Pack filled with resources and referrals to empower her<\/strong><\/em> with the knowledge and momentum needed for her challenging journey ahead.<\/p>\n

Lulu, an independent and athletic 21-year-old, refused to let her circumstances impede her dreams. Though now reliant on family and friends, she was determined to move forward.<\/strong><\/em> With the goal of pursuing her passion for speech and language pathology, Lulu faced the challenge of returning to college and navigating the campus independently. Triumph stepped in, providing her with a power wheelchair that grants her the mobility to pursue her educational aspirations<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n
