Love Stories – Love can be found

Andrew Skinner February 14, 2019 Triumph Outreach Update, Videos

Happy Valentines Day (again)!

We're sharing love stories of some of our friends whose injuries definitely affected their romantic dreams, but even so, love endures.

I don't know about you, but this time of year, with all its candy hearts and baby cupids, seems to always bring out mixed emotions among my friends. Valentine's Day can be wonderful for those who have a loved one to share it with, and a real bummer for those who don't.

I can totally understand why. Living with a spinal cord issue can be tough enough, but to go through it alone is often more challenging than anyone cares to admit.

Love is complicated whether you're injured or able-bodied, single or married, dating or not.

No matter where you are in your romantic pursuits, I hope these stories will give you hope and strength to love and be loved well.

Love can still be found.  Love has ALL ability.

Joey & Llona - A New Love Story

Meet Joey and Llona. Joey got hurt when he was 19 years old when he flipped over the handle bars while mountain biking in 2002. Unsure what kinda cards he was dealt in life, he joined a Bible study, where he met a pretty girl named Llona.  As fate would have it, on Valentines Day they met for their class, but found out it had been canceled. They decided to go out that night, and the rest is history.

They fell in love, are now married and have a beautiful daughter named Kiana.

They are living proof, love can still be found.  I hope this encourages you to create your own love story.

Love You

I want you to know that I'm very sensitive to the struggles people in the Triumph Family are going through. And I'm deeply concerned for those of us who feel like they're on their own. So if you're facing this Valentine's Day with some sadness over your own situation, take heart. You are not alone.

Our Triumph Family has proven to me again and again that we look out for our own. I'm convinced that if you reach out, one of us will come alongside you with an encouraging word and a hug to get you through.
