20 Years of Achievements for People with SCI – Celebrating Craig H. Neilsen Foundation

Andrew Skinner April 18, 2023 News

We're thrilled to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Craig H. Neilsen Foundation's incredible work advancing spinal cord injury (SCI) research and increasing access to programming for those living with SCI. Their generosity toward Triumph Foundation since 2015 has enabled us to expand our programs and services to help individuals with spinal cord injuries and paralysis. Thanks to their funding, we've been able to provide frontline counseling, adaptive equipment, mentorship, and resources that empower people with SCI to lead fulfilling lives.

The Neilsen Foundation's grants have helped us increase access to programming for those living with SCI. Their support has been crucial in hosting support groups, providing equipment and adaptive sports opportunities, and advocating for policy changes that benefit individuals with spinal cord injuries.

One such individual is Damarius, a young boy who was involved in a tragic car accident that left him with a spinal cord injury. Thanks to support from Neilsen, Triumph has been able to help Damarius overcome many obstacles and pursue the life of play and joy that every child deserves. We were able to provide him with a wheelchair and other necessary equipment, and he has participated in adaptive recreation events, such as sitting volleyball and Over-the-Line Wheelchair Baseball Tournament, all thanks to the ongoing work of the Craig H. Neilsen Foundation.

We applaud Neilsen's dedication to improving the lives of people with SCI is inspiring, and we're proud to be a partner in achieving their vision. We're grateful for their commitment to a world where people with SCI can keep moving forward, pursuing full and productive lives as active members of their communities.

From all of us at Triumph Foundation, we extend our heartfelt thanks and congratulations to the Craig H. Neilsen Foundation for their unwavering support and partnership in making a difference in the world of spinal cord injury research and programming. Here's to another 20 years of impactful grantmaking and partnership!
