Happy Valentines Day!

I don't know about you, but this time of year, with all its candy hearts and baby cupids, seems to always bring out mixed emotions.

Living with a disability can be tough enough, but to go through it alone is often more challenging than anyone cares to admit.  Love is complicated whether you're injured or able-bodied, single or married, dating or not.

I'm sensitive to the fact that not all relationships withstand the stress and pressure of having a spinal cord injury and living with a disability. But I think it's important to celebrate those that do.

So today, we're sharing the VERY SPECIAL love story of Anthony and Katie Orefice.

It's sure to get your eyes wet - so grab a tissue box.

Remember, love has ALL ability.

Anthony & Katie - A Love Story

Meet Anthony and Katie. Anthony got hurt in a motorcycle accident when he was 17 years old becoming a paraplegic. Young, afraid and angry, he was lost. But the one thing he did have was his girlfriend Katie who loved him. She didn't fall in love with him because he could walk, she loved who he was inside as a man.

With her help and God's grace, Anthony came to terms with his injury, and dedicated himself to be the best man he could be for Katie. Today, they've been happily married for 20 years, and have a wonderful son named Noah.

I hope their story is an encouragement to all the couples who are just dating at the time of injury. Your love can find a way too.
