Meet Jason Johnson

Jason Johnson is back on the beach teaching lifeguards!

Jason is the Recreation and Ocean Safety Supervisor for the City of Port Hueneme. In April 2019 he suffered a spinal cord injury while snowboarding. A year later he returned to work as a paraplegic and wheelchair user. Due to Jason’s injury, it severely limited his ability to oversee and instruct lifeguards because he wasn't able to get out onto the beach.

This year, Triumph Foundation was able to loan him the ACTION TRACKCHAIR to help him engage more effectively by giving him the ability to get onto sand unaided to train 19 new lifeguards.

“Thank you, Triumph Foundation this has truly made me, more effective in performing my work duties”. – Jason Johnson

If you sign up for our Handcycle event on August 28th in Ventura you'll get to see the tank chair and get to try it out on the sand too! Sign up here
