Jocelyn’s Journey to Recovery: Triumph Over Adversity
January 7, 2025 News, Noteworthy, SCIJocelyn's Journey to Recovery
In December, Jocelyn's life took a devastating turn when she was hit by a drunk driver after work. The accident left her in critical condition, with a spinal cord injury, as well as a punctured lung, severe internal damage, and many fractures. Despite dying twice in the ICU, Jocelyn fought to survive and now faces new challenges in her daily life.
Seeking Help for a Custom Wheelchair
Jocelyn approached Triumph Foundation for help to obtain a custom-made wheelchair. Her hospital-issued wheelchair had caused discomfort and bruising because it was too large for her. She needed a lightweight chair with proper cushioning to move around her home comfortably and prevent further injuries.
A New Lease on Mobility
Thanks to Triumph’s Keep Moving Forward Grant, Jocelyn has experienced the transformative impact of a custom wheelchair, designed to her height and weight. Her new chair is lighter, more comfortable, and allows her to navigate around her daily activities much more efficiently. Grateful for the support, Jocelyn says, “My new wheelchair has truly made my life easier in every way.”
