Because of YOU, Raymon is Back in the Driver’s Seat

Eight years ago, Raymon’s life changed in an instant when a gunshot left him a C5 quadriplegic. Since then, he’s faced the daily challenge of depending on others for even the most basic needs—especially transportation. Getting to appointments, visiting friends, or simply leaving his home required constant coordination and patience. “Being dependent has been a struggle,” he shared. “Especially when what matters to me doesn’t always matter to the people I have to rely on.”

Recently, Raymon took a bold step forward—he earned his permit and made a plan to get back behind the wheel. Driving again would give him a level of independence he hasn’t had in nearly a decade. But the adaptive hand controls he needed were financially out of reach.

Thanks to Triumph Foundation’s Keep Moving Forward Grant—and the generous support of people like you—Raymon was able to secure the remaining funds to install hand controls in his vehicle. He’s now on the road to a more independent, fulfilling life.
