Momentum Nationwide – A Grants Story

Changing Lives Across The USA!

Did you know Triumph is driving momentum—not just here in Southern California, but nationwide?

We've expanding our reach to help people with spinal cord injuries and disorders across the country regain their independence, embrace new possibilities, and keep moving forward.

Everyday, we get contacted by families looking for resources, guidance, and support to equip them in their journey.

Here's a few highlights of amazing folks we've recently assisted:

Stories of Resilience

In rural South Dakota, there's an amazing girl named Abbigail. When she was seven months old, she contracted transverse myelitis - a paralyzing nerve condition. She's now an active young lady with sights on driving and helping on the farm. But without adaptive hand controls, independence was just out of reach.

Thanks to Triumph's Keep Moving Forward Grant, Abby received support for vehicle hand controls. She now has the right tools to take the wheel, propelling her forward with newfound freedom.

Across the country in Fredericksburg, Virginia, Gunnar sustained a C4 spinal cord injury in a lacrosse accident in May 2024. When he was set to return home from the hospital, his dad reached out for assistance, as their home lacked the necessary accessibility.

Triumph helped support the construction of a ramp and make modifications to the bathroom.

In Tempe, Arizona, Shawna, who lives with a degenerative condition, has never let it hold her back. She’s the devoted mother of two amazing children, and works in public education as a pediatric speech and language pathologist.

As her condition has progressed, Shawna now relies on a wheelchair full-time. She applied for help to install two ramps, and was awarded a Keep Moving Forward Grant. Shawna now has the access she deserves, allowing her to move safely in and out of her home.

Up in Bakersfield, California, Paul is recovering from a 2021 auto collision with a semi-truck. Now a paraplegic, he is going to school, works an internship, and is an active member of his church.

Recently, he set a goal to drive again, but needed hand controls to operate his truck. He applied to Triumph for help, and received the funding needed to install the device.

Now, Paul is safely driving, reclaiming his freedom.

Closer to home in Culver City, California, Malcolm’s love for wheelchair basketball was at risk due to worn-out equipment. With new sport wheels funded by Triumph - Malcom can now train, compete, and keep his athletic dreams alive.

Triumph's Keep Moving Forward Grants are more than just financial support—they are a force of momentum helping people triumph —breaking barriers and pushing past limitations.

That’s why we’re proud to reach beyond Southern California to serve people nationwide, ensuring no one is left without the support they need to thrive.
