Why we exist

Andrew Skinner February 24, 2026 News, Noteworthy, SCI, Triumph Outreach Update

Why does Triumph exist?

You already know this about Triumph.

  • Youโ€™ve seen it in hospital rooms.
  • In support groups.
  • On basketball courts.
  • In a ramp built where there were once stairs.
  • In a power chairย loaned just when it was needed most.

But this is the heart of it.

Triumph exists because paralysis changes everything, and no one should face that alone.

When a spinal cord injury occurs, the needs come fast and furious. Needs for:

  • Information.
  • Equipment.
  • Resources.
  • Transportation.
  • Answers.

We hear these questionsย every day.

That's why we developedย Triumph's "Circle of Care."

Newly Injured Supportย shows up early, when everything feels uncertain.
Grants & Equipment remove barriers that feel impossible.
Adaptive Recreationย reminds the body what movement feels like.
Employment Assistanceย restores confidence and purpose.
Inclusive Communityย ensures that no one faces it alone.

Each Circle of Care program is a moment.

Each moment builds momentum.

Momentum moves people forward.

That is why we exist.

To meet people in their most difficult moments.

To move with them through their questions and needs.

To provide a community that encourages growth and independence.

To inspire everyone to keep moving forward.

If this mission feels personal to you, thatโ€™s because it is. Triumph has always been built by people who believe in showing up faithfully, month after month, so that no one facing paralysis has to wonder where hope will come from.

Will you commit to giving a monthly gift of $25 or more for people living with paralysis? Your generous support is the momentum they need.

Keep moving forward.

"Triumph shows up in the darkest moments, with a fist bump that says 'you're not alone,' and that's where hope begins." - Andrew Skinner
