Two Sides to Every Story – September Outreach Update
September 12, 2019 SCI, Triumph Outreach UpdateThere are two sides to every story. In Triumph’s case that’s more true than you know. With every care package our Ambassadors deliver to the hospital rooms of newly-injured people, there are two unique and powerful stories at work.
The first is the story of the recipient. For the injured person awakening to the reality of a spinal cord injury, the care package delivery becomes their lifeline and link to a hope for the future.
The second side of the story is seen through the eyes of the Triumph Ambassador.
This month, I want to share with you the story of one of our incredible Ambassadors, Steve Campbell.
As you read his story below, remember that people like Steve, the rock stars of our movement, make every difference in the lives of the people we serve.
Will you support Triumph with your giving this month?
Give the gift of hope for a newly-injured person - set up an automatic monthly gift of $10 and provide a care basket delivery to one person every year!!
Thank you,
Andrew Skinner

Ambassador Steve Campbell
Steve was injured in 2011. He is a C6 complete quadriplegic. Like the rest of our Ambassadors, Steve was once in the same situation, broken by an injury he didn’t see coming.
While recovering at Casa Colina, one of our Ambassadors rolled into his life to give him a care pack gift and care for his needs. Fast forward to today, Steve and his wife Deanne are leaders in the Triumph Family. Although his life had once been shattered, he puzzled it back together to the degree that he now uses his story to help others get better every day.
“I’m 8 years post-injury,” says Steve, “but as I counsel newly injured people, it’s give and take. I’m still learning from others and I don’t expect that will ever change.”
Steve and Deanne are all in. Keep reading below to see how they impacted 30 people at Rancho Los Amigos in one day!
When you support Triumph Foundation, you make it possible for Ambassadors like Steve to offer a bridge to a positive future in the form of a care package full of essential resources for newly-injured people.
One Day at Rancho
Steve and Deanne know what it's like to have more questions than answers. That's why they feel compelled to meet others at the beginning of their SCI journey and offer friendship, resources and hope.
Last month, they went to Rancho Los Amigos in Downey, CA armed with a carload of care baskets and their hearts ready to serve. They visited 30 new inpatients giving them resource guides, expert advice, and compassion for those whose lives have been dramatically altered by injury.
We're so proud of our Ambassadors!
Surf & Turf
Triumph had an amazing time at Casa Colina’s Land Meets Sea Sports Camp in Long Beach last month. This multi-sport event is one of the highlights of the year!
Triumph sponsored several participants, and hosted the wheelchair hockey and rugby clinics.
