Inspiration for the Season
November 20, 2025 News, SCI, Triumph Outreach Update, VideosThe Holiday Season is fast approaching and has us feeling extra grateful for YOU - and our community that shows up with hearts wide open to help others.
Our Triumph Family stays close through life's ups-and-downs, offering hope, encouragement, and meaningful connections.
As you get ready for Thanksgiving, GivingTuesday, and the Christmas season - we want you to meet Scoba.
He's a Navy veteran, paraplegic, and one of our first Care Pack recipients - who is now an active community member and new peer-mentor for Triumph, who is living his life to his fullest ability, and turning around to give back.
We hope his story reminds you this season that even in times of struggle, life isn’t over - it’s often just beginning, especially when we choose to serve others.

A Veteran's Story of Giving Back
In 2009, a life-changing surgery left Scoba facing paralysis not knowing what comes next.
During the early stages of his recovery, he met Triumph and was given a Care Pack that provided answers to questions he didn't even know he had yet.
He stayed connected and engaged; and felt a calling to serve others the same way he was once helped.
Today, Scoba is one of Triumph's newest Ambassadors with a mission to help others achieve their goals after injury. He works with Paralyzed Veterans of America, helps lead our SCI Support Group at the Long Beach VA, and delivering Care Packs to new spinal cord injury patients.
"I was in the hospital and not faring well. After reading Triumph's Resource Guidebook, I began to understand my spinal cord injury...
I am now married, employed - and most importantly - happy." - Scoba
Triumph's guidance and community was a turning point for Scoba, and he's now on the front-lines assisting kids, adults and veterans with spinal cord injury - embracing them and helping turn tragedy into triumph.
Scoba's testimony is just one story of how your support makes a real impact.
May his journey inspire you to celebrate the blessings in your life, and find purpose in serving others. We wish you a joyful holiday season filled with gratitude, generosity, and meaningful connection - around your table, with our Triumph Family, and within the community we support together.

Giving Tuesday

December 2nd is Giving Tuesday, the worldwide day to support the causes you care about most.
Scoba’s journey is just one example of how your support makes a difference — and your gift will help us open more hospital doors, roll into people’s lives when they need us most, and empower them to discover purpose.
That’s what Giving Tuesday is all about: reaching hearts and changing lives.
Please consider making a special year-end donation to Triumph Foundation to help continue our transformative work.
"We will educate, support, and empower people to triumph over adversity, embrace life's possibilities, and keep moving forward together." - Andrew Skinner
