Christopher’s Journey – Keep Moving Forward Grant Recipient

Christopherโ€™s Journey

One Sunday night, Christopherโ€™s life took a drastic turn after a casual gathering with friends and family. While enjoying the aftermath of a football game, a spur-of-the-moment decision to dive headfirst into a shallow pool led to an unfortunate accident, resulting in immediate paralysis. Christopher faced an arduous 8-week hospital stay and returned home as a quadriplegic, forever changing his life.

Facing New Challenges

As the primary breadwinner for his family, Christopher's injury brought significant financial strain, especially with young children aged 3 and 6. Although grateful for his current wheelchair, it was ill-suited to his needs, contributing to shoulder strain, complicating his mobility, and hindering his independence.

Triumph Foundationโ€™s Lifeline

Thanks to a grant from the Triumph Foundation, Christopher received a more suitable wheelchair that has vastly improved his quality of life. This new wheelchair has enabled greater autonomy and alleviated financial pressure on his family.

A Path to Independence

Christopher is deeply grateful to Triumph for their support, which has been key to his journey toward independence. With the new wheelchair, he aims to master wheelchair breakdown and learn to driveโ€”milestones made possible by Triumph's assistance.
