Heather felt that way before she signed up for her first Wheelchair Sports Festival last year. In fact, it was the first community event, besides support groups, that she had ever attended. Little did she know the kind of inclusive and supportive atmosphere she would soon encounter.

What Heather discovered blew her expectations away! Surrounded by others in wheelchairs who were simply playing and laughing with friends and family, Heather felt an instant connection and warmth that she had never experienced before.

Triumph's volunteers wasted no time in embracing Heather, introducing themselves, showing her around, and ensuring she had all the equipment she needed to participate fully. It was a day filled with camaraderie, support, and new-found friends—a day she will cherish forever.

Heather's experience serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of community and peer-to-peer support. It's proof that no matter our circumstances, there's a place where we can find acceptance, encouragement, and belonging.
