In Celebration of Alvin Mathews

In August we went to Ventura to hold a memorial handcycle ride and BBQ in memory of our friend Alvin Mathews who passed away in 2021.

Alvin was a member of Triumph Foundation, after a three-story fall resulted in a catastrophic spinal cord injury at the C5 to C7 levels.  Before his injury, Alvin had run marathons on 6 continents with Richard Donovan, an ultra-distance runner who organized the events. When he was first injured, Richard raised money to support his friend. And when Alvin passed away, Richard Donovan honored his memory with a transcontinental run to support Triumph Foundation’s programs to help people living with paralysis.

Read about Richard Donovan 3000+ mile run across America in Alvin's memory.

Triumph's handcycling event, in honor of Alvin and through the support of Richard's fundraising efforts, had a great turnout with over 40 participants.

Thank you to everyone who attended and donated to Richard's Fundraiser for Triumph.

Capturing Moments!
