Standing Strong: Said's Journey 

Recovery after a spinal cord injury is a journey filled with determination, resilience, and the support of a strong community. For Said, that journey has been shaped by the people and programs that have helped him continue moving forward.

After his injury, he connected with Triumph Foundation and began participating in our adaptive recreation events. These experiences gave him the opportunity to stay active, connect with others who understand life after paralysis.

As his recovery continued, Said found another valuable resource through our Equipment Exchange Program. Through the generosity of our community, he received a standing frame—an essential piece of adaptive equipment that will help him continue building strength, improve circulation and bone health, and support his long-term rehabilitation.

For many individuals living with paralysis, equipment like a standing frame can be life-changing, but it is often expensive and not fully covered by insurance. That's why our Equipment Exchange Program exists: to connect donated adaptive equipment with people who need it most, ensuring these valuable resources continue changing lives instead of sitting unused.

Said's story is a reminder that recovery doesn't happen overnight—and it doesn't happen alone. With access to the right equipment, meaningful community connections, and opportunities to stay active, individuals living with paralysis can continue reaching new milestones.
